| This month’s paint splash is on Kamani Reddy; Kamani is the Regional Manager for Olympia International Paints in Johannesburg and, as a woman, has a firm knowledge of running a paint company. Here she shares some of her personal information so we can get to know her better. |

How long have you been employed at Olympia Paints?
In November this year, I will be working for Olympia International Paints for 5 years. I have gained a rich and varied knowledge of the paint industry, and have a strong passion for the Olympia brand. We place high value on producing premium-quality products, underpinned by a Quality Policy which guides our strategy for doing business. |

How did you start?
I started as a sales consultant and am now the Gauteng Regional Manager.What has been the one highlight for you in your time at Olympia that stands out above every other?
It has to be being given the opportunity to manage the Gauteng office after a very short time as a sales consultant. I remember thinking to myself that if Palash has the confidence in me to hand over this role then I must have the courage not to let him down.
Do you have an inspirational thought to share with all women?

| “Celebrating my fellow women’s success is what I thrive on as it encourages me to take risks fearlessly and hey as they say, “behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.” As a South African woman living in a male dominated society it is quite challenging to rise above the stereotype of “women can’t do what men do” mentality, but we are defying the odds and it’s no longer uncommon to encounter female train drivers, truck drivers, boilermakers to air-force pilots, to name a few. This makes me super proud to be a South African woman.”

| “For Women’s Month, I reflect on women who have gone before me. I think of the ‘pioneers’, former generations I call queens in their own right, they produced future leaders and people of value. These are the women who have paved the way to get us to where we are today. Some of them uneducated but filled with wisdom, spirituality and vision. Most women restricted under religion, law, and stereotypes, but still retained a supernatural strength to stand up for herself and still create change. These are the women who I look up to, and secretly wish there were more of, who encourage, inspire change and positivity, qualities especially needed by our generations today who are focused on fake ideals rather than strength, true inner beauty, and value. I salute all the ‘pioneers’.”

| We partnered with TMC Group Development and Construction to bring joy to a Gogo on Mandela Day on 18 July. We painted the interior and exterior of her home, which until that day, had not ever been painted before. Nelson Mandela captured it beautifully: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” |

| We partnered with Haw & Inglis on the construction of the Qhayiya Secondary School in Hermanus, and supplied Akrosheen Satin Sheen Pure Acrylic Coating for interior and exterior walls, as well as Akroprime AR Masonry Primer for waterproofing and sealing masonry substrates. |
